Question RX 6700 XT vs RTX 3060 Ti – Which One Holds Up Better in 2025?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently deciding between the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT and the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti for a mid-range 1440p build in 2025. I’ve seen benchmarks from the past couple of years, but I’d really like to hear some first-hand, current experiences from people actually using these cards.

Main use cases:

  • 1440p gaming (AAA titles, no ray tracing focus)
  • Occasional light rendering (Blender) and video editing
  • Looking for quiet, cool, and efficient performance

Questions:

  • How does the driver support and stability feel for each brand right now?
  • Which card gives better real-world performance at 1440p with high/ultra settings?
  • Is the extra VRAM (12GB on 6700 XT) making a difference in today’s titles?
  • Any regrets or surprises after long-term use of either card?

Bonus if anyone has feedback on how these cards perform with newer updates or in mixed creative/gaming workloads.

Thanks in advance—looking forward to your thoughts before I make a decision!

Best,
Rao Henry

I guess rx 6700 xt is hardly available because it is a card in a past few years ago,you maybe can buy 6700 xt which is used one.6700 xt is more faster than 3060 ti.i think both card is only good at 1080P Gaming no upscale.higher card can offer better perfomance.7800 xt or 4070 super is good at 1440p

The 6700 XT, the 8GB of VRAM on the 3060 TI is now a problem at 1440P, and becoming on at at 1080P. That said, are you looking at used cards or new? You may also want to consider the RX 9060 XT 16GB, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, even the Intel B580 if you can find it at MSRP.
