People have been running contraband ever since border levy was invented. To phrase this as plunder and attach to a specific national/race is the lowest form of reporting, certainly not journalism.

BTW, during the 3090 craze it was the other way around as mainland China was the only market where plenty of stock were available for purchase at MSRP.

Suspicions that some of the unruly crowd at PC Studio's RTX 5090 and 5080 lotto event day in Akihabara, Tokyo were from China were raised on several social media platforms.

I can buy that. As someone who lives in Japan, here's nothing Japanese people love more than waiting in lines for things. I'd be very surprised if the unruly patrons were Japanese.

I dont understand one thing though ? The 4090D was supposed to be the upper limit of what could be sold to China right ? So then how come the 5090D exists when its an upgrade over the 4090D ? Do the restrictions allow for time based performance upgrade generosity ?
